Folding At Home

Postby [fun]scott » Wed Feb 09, 2005 10:23 pm

Lo all bit off topic.. but im just wondering if anyone does folding at home, if so is it for any team.... im trying to drum up some users for team 2cpu.com #5 in the world with the #1 folder in the world.

info about folding at home (fah)
http://folding.stanford.edu/

download site
http://folding.stanford.edu/download.html

team 2cpu.com
http://vspx27.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/main ... amnum=3074

direct link to [FuN] stats

work unit values

in short its a program like seti@home which uses your spare cpu. when your not using it. you do not notice running it as its been proven even when running a game you loose only 1%( if that) performance over not running it. this program is a distributed computing program which is trying to see how and why proteins fold the way they do. once this is worked out things such as cancer and alzheimer's (yes i can spell) may be stopped with drug treatment.

it doesnt matter to me who you fold for as long as you do, but team 2cpu.com (team id 3074) is a very nice team :P read more over at www.2cpu.com

please use the below details to fold for [FuN]

team id 3074

user [FuN]

Remu$ whispered in my ear about this, and I made a post about it on our forums - so there might be some [Mobsters] adding CPU to the fun tag if you don't mind :)

Ok we have 9 cpu's working on Folding 4 [FuN] but we could use more. I think we could get within the first 100 in no time with more joining in. It's really easy and you can even game while your doing it :D . Come join the fun and do some good with that CPU of yours.

small work units (66 points) take about 20 hours. large work units (600 points) take 4 - 5 days 24/7 but there worth it. more ppd. we gaining ground fast. we will be in the top 20 daily producers either tonight or tomorrow. lets start over taking the big boys. more cpus needed btw.
