Don't feel too down, there is a pad out there for drawing by hand, my mouse isn't smooth enough for that art work but if I went for the pad it would be nice.

Sorry to dissalusion all you budding Photoshop artists - but that wasn't created in Photoshop it was created using Fractal Painter which specialises in natural media brushes . . . but your right without a pen and tablet you could spend ages doing that.

Fractal Painter uses layers and layer masks in a similar way to photoshop and you can see him (I assume him otherwise it would be goth hunk or something) using these extensively as he adjusts the skin tones he's sketched up earlier.
