Oakley sunglasses and my 1st/2nd warranty claim...

Postby Keiser Soze » Mon Jun 01, 2009 4:55 pm

Just wanted to share my story with you

I always buy Oakley sunglasses as they have been proven very good, solid frames, excellent lenses. Last year I bought one new pair but it seems they are not that good. After wearing them for 4months, they broke. The metal part going behind the ear part has some kind of string and that part broke. Went to the store where I bought them and after couple of months got new one.

I thought excellent, great service, new very good sunglasses. After couple next months again the same thing had happened?!?? Ok, I thought, there won't be any problem with another warranty claim. Today got a phone call that they are ready for pickup.
Went to the shop and what could I see. The frame was welded?!?!? and believe me they didn't look like the ones I have bought.

I told the story about my rights to the shopkeeper that I won't take those sunglasses as I didn't paid those ones looking like a Chines 10€, flee market pair. And want them to solve the problem as they know. Told them also it won't stop here
She told me: "If I may be frank to you I'm not going to pay them" (well we will see who will  )

In the mean time I'm fighting for my customer rights and will keep you updated.

Hope Oakley will prove them to be the best quality sunglasses maker as they commercialize themselves and will prove me being wrong about my thought atm.

Cheers,

Keiser "Nothing to loose" Soze

All Oakley eyewear is warranted against breakage due to material or workmanship defect for one year from the date of purchase with a valid receipt. Oakley’s warranty program does not cover scratched lenses. Additionally, any alterations of Oakley products (i.e. sunglasses fit with non-Oakley prescription lenses) will void warranty coverage. For all prescription warranty claims, please contact the Authorized Oakley Dealer from which your purchase was made.

Croatia is serviced in Hungary, but u can also sent email to Slovenia link but imo u should sent email directly to manufacturer with name of the shop & pics what they done & claimed that they are fixed.

np m8,

Most of shop owners think that they are god given, when they need to take your money for the product they are fast (witch i cant say when some problem appear). They forget how world is small these days & that u can go over them & complain to their "boss" in a matter of sec. I had same problem with my digital camera, when it got broke ppl who sold me told me to sent it to Czech for repair (i must say when i bought device i asked about repairs & he said its no problem just to take it to them). Imo thats their work, they sold me device & it was still under warranty, when guy refused to take it & send to repair i contacted Olympus & got call two days after from a guy who sold me device telling me it wasn't necessary for me to to that & that i come to the shop where he will replace device with new one. I guess he got a call from the "boss" 8)

Customer 1:0 mr wiseguy shop owner

:D

Reminds me of something.

A few years ago while taking some stuff to the skip(rubbish site) i saw a new looking 19" crt monitor and as at the time only had a 17" one decided to take it home and see if it worked.

Pluged it in and naf all :( had a look on the net for known problems with this model and couldn't find any thing that would help me fix it. I then checked out the manufacturers web site and noticed that all their stuff had 3 year warrenty, the 1 i found looked brand new so gave them a bell and low and behold 4 days later a nice brand new £400 crt arived at my door and old one was collected.

Funny thing was there was a small crack in one of the corners, i was not happy that it was damaged in transport so back on the phone, few days later and another replacement turned up in perfect condition :D that i still have to this day.

Nice one, Jamie

Can't help but thinking that whoever bought that monitor also called the manufacturer, got a new monitor sent to him and told the people who picked it up that he'd throw it in the skip himself... for you to find

Dear Mr Keiser

Thank you for your letter and we have checked the manufactoring process of the sun glasses and found the fault,it lies not with the sunglasses themselves but with the shape of your head ,to put it bluntly its just too BIG.
Perhaps something with elastic would suit you better.
your faithfully

Annie Oakley

More like

Dear Mr Keiser

Thank you for your letter and we have checked the manufactoring process of the sun glasses and found the fault.

It's not the sun glasses but the amount of hard cord porn that they are being subjected to. Like the human eye, our glasses are not ment for such use, also if you need to return items to us, please ensure all residue is removed from the item before dispatching it.

your faithfully
