Recording a demo in RtCW & ET

Postby TrueDeviL » Fri Aug 01, 2003 12:33 am

Ok,

I know I have posted this before, but not in this section :P

--------------

Have you recorded a demo in ET yet?

If so, have you also noticed you can't stop it?

Well, I have the solution...

re-bind your F12 key to "exec demorecord.cfg"
EG: /bind f12 "exec demorecord.cfg"

Then create a new .txt file in the etmain directory, and put this in it:

set demoon "g_syncronousclients 1;
record;g_syncronousclients 0; echo You are currently ^2Recording a demo.;
set demotoggle vstr demooff"
set demooff "stoprecord; echo You are currently ^1Not ^1Recording a demo.;
set demorecord vstr demoon"
set demorecord "vstr demoon"
bind F12 "vstr demotoggle"
echo Demo Toggle by ]CkB[ikonis : Loaded

Then, save it as demorecord.cfg

I also copid this file to the 'profiles' directory..

Then, to record a demo, press F12, when done, press F12 to stop it..

The files won't be named like the autorecord one does, but, it does mean that you don't HAVE to
record the whole damn game.. ;p

Now, I haven't tested it yet, but, you *should* be able to make multiple demos using this script...

If not.. at least be thankful you can now stop it =D
