How to listen in Near CD Quality mp3PRO

Postby [AsC]Frags » Fri Apr 02, 2004 1:43 am

MPfreeUK broadcasts in High Quality mp3PRO 64K Audio. It is backward compatable with all MP3 players including winamp but without the nessisary mp3PRO decoder you will hear low quality MP3 audio.

You can listen to our 24/7 programme schedule in Near CD MP3Pro quality by following the instructions below:

Upgrade now:

1. Download Winamp 5 from:

http://www.winamp.com/player/free.php

2. Download the Thomson MP3pro Winamp codec:

http://www.mp3prozone.com/download_winamp.htm

3. Close Winamp and run the MP3Pro installer.

4. Goto www.live365.com/stations/mpfreeuk

5. Login with your account (or register for your free account), it is useful for you to set "remember me" as you dont have to log in every time you listen.

6. Goto Listen Tab and Listen Settings

7. Set connection speed to "128k (T1/DSL/Cable)"

8. Set Player to "MP3 Player (e.g. Sonique, Winamp (2.8 and higher), MusicMatch)"

9. Click "Save Settings"

10. Goto http://www.live365.com/stations/mpfreeuk?play and it should load the site and then open winamp*

*If you are using a popup blocker you need to add this URL or if using the google toolbar hold down Ctrl key while clicking the above link.

*MP3Pro Only works in the Live365 built in player if you are a registered paying "Preferred member" otherwise you need to use the above solution.

Signup for "Preferred membership" Here and get the Radio365 desktop software so you can listen directly from your desktop without logging into the site, you also get mp3PRO audio as standard and NO ADVERTS!!!> http://www.live365.com/rewards/pm?tag=mpfreeuk

Test 1 took place tonight, standing in for `Xui, and those with the MP3Pro codec liked the quality, there seemed to only be a couple of glitches i saw at my end (the server software is beta)

If you experienced problems please report them here:

1. What Player
2. Did you have the Thomson MP3Pro Codec installed (Winamp)
3. Operating System
4. Connection

other than that any general comments about the broadcast.

Otherwise Thanks to arsey for replenishing some lost choons

Remember Arsey broadcasts via Windows Media at www.francefm.net
