As advertised on Mayhem, i plan to add a new map pack.

On the server now there are 2 map packs

Map pack #1

Gob Icestation
Gob Rats
Blustadt
Kaen
POW Camp

Map pack #2

Anzio
Cat & Mouse
Tiger Town
Hobbiton

and a single file St. Lo map.

Now, do you want to keep these map packs or delete any (note, if 1 map is deleted from a map pack the whole pack must be downloaded again in full)

NEW MAPS

Some players have said about some more Gob Maps and lolv2.

I think the best way to do this, is if every one says what maps they would like to see on the server(even if someone else has said it) then we can look to see what maps are wanted most.

As allways any thing else you would like to see changed, make a NEW topic and we will see what we can do.

Please supply us with links to the maps you suggest (even you, Jamie :P), that way everyone can quickly see if the map looks nice.
Although, is chateau (am guessing you mean that one, you Bristolian spelling-wonder :P) the old CoD1 (or was it UO?) map. Because if it is, I would like to try that out, as that was always a nice map to play on

I am ok with the current maps on the server, but occasionally get a bit frustrated with maps like rats coming up time after time. Jamie's supposed to have changed the mod settings for this, so I will hold back judgement as the past couple of days have seem fine :)

Perhaps several of us need to start writing down how many players are on the server when a certain map comes on and how many are on by the end of the map (and thus finding out how popular maps are). Of course you'll need to look at the time as well, as it makes sense the server is more crowded at 9pm than it is at midnight (especially weekdays)

As for other new maps, I'll go look for some again and come back with a couple of suggestions in the days to come :)

One is certain you will not see me on server during gob map...i hate gob maps and unfortunately i am in minority.

i am easly pleased as i like most maps and play on most of them
i mostly like big maps so no one finds me :)

there was a stock cod1 map starting with H big winter map but cant remember the name.

HURTGEN! God, I used to hate that map :P Worth the try though, if there is a CoD2 remake

Nevertheless, I would go for all the 3 maps you two have suggested. Two remakes of quite nice CoD1 maps and mirage may be worth the try.

We usually find you anyway Sam, big map or small map, you eventually will go down! :P

I have four maps that i recall to be good. I'm huge fun of mtl maps. Two of them are:

mtl_pirates and mtl_raiders. I haven't found links with screenshots for this maps. But hobbiton is one of mtl maps so if you liked hobbiton probably you'll like those two.

Waterfall - small map, i like it very much

Hell's Keep (Day) - one of custom maps that i played when i was starting with cod 2.

Take a look, and decide if you want one of these. I'd be very happy to see at least one of them in rotation. I'm not huge fun of cat & mouse map, but it seems that much people like it, so it's better to stay. But Kaen is too big map and it's not very popular so i think that this map should be removed from rotation.

I have suggested some of these maps before I think, but would still like to see 'em added :P

Road to Hill 400 - Basically a port from the SP mission, not entirely sure as it's only got 1 screenshot but may be worth the try
Super Mario 3D - Seems like a laugh!
Omaha - Beach map, seems like a good one
Grassville, France - Not a huge map, but a small countryside town to have some good fun in. Plus, you gotta love the huge teddy :P

i am no good at remembering map names but there was one of my favs in coduo which had a windmill and a big hill in the middle and ctf was really good dont know if you can get it for cod2 though :)

How are we gonna decide what maps to add? I personaly would like to be able to have a poll vote of all the maps that are on the server and all the maps that are nomminated here and the ones with the higest votes win, only trouble with this is that we dont have enougth visitors to these forums to make that a viable option :(

Some nice maps there i will be testing them with the Extreme mod later as i know some maps dont like the mod and it would be best to elimniate the ones that wont work with Extreme before we decide what maps to add. I'm not sure but Grassville i think i tryed before and it didnt work :( but will still try it and see if anything can be done so that it does work. Just checked and it dont work, somthing to do model limits. Ive asked on Extreme forums if anything can be done.

I loved the Omaha maps but will be a right pain in the butt with rocket launchers.

The MTL maps can be found HERE for those who want to see them.

Had a quick look for Kursk but no joy

Yep, sorry, I now remember why you couldn't include Grassville previously, such a shame as it seems a very nice map.

Suppose still the only way to put up a poll is on here m8. All you can do is advertise it on the server, and coming to these forums just has the advantage of being able to put your say in on the server.

About the weapon limits though. You want to turn Bazooka's, Flamethrowers and mobile MG42's off alltogether. I have suggested reducing them to 1-2 per side, and even though I agree with you saying they can still pick it up from teammates, it will definetly reduce the amount used because there cannot be several spawning with them at the same time and they will simply have to share those available. I'm still not a big fan of weaponlimits, but do admit that the recent usage of especially the bazooka's seems to have an adverse effect and an increasing number of players are getting annoyed by being blown to bits only seconds after they spawn, including me sometimes I must admit.
Only way to find out, is just to try it m8y. Weaponlimits, etc are just a quick change in the server config so I suppose there's no real harm in finding the right balance by trying out. If you need help, as always you'll know where to find me :)

Perhaps another skill for you to learn, Sam, map-making, that way you can make a port from the original UO map to CoD2 yourself :P :lol:
If that fails, you could always try n contact a mapmaker if you really really want to play this map on CoD2 :wink:

Grassville is now working but due to the error G_modellimit overflow, ive had to disable some of the models and limit weapons(models.)

Ive set it up as rifel only due to the above error with this map, this still offers a choice of 5 weapons(i think) and all the other features of the map are on like the alarm and elevator and seeing as this is quite an open map i think rifels will be ok.

This map will get my vote after running around it for a few mins yesterday.
