What a day in my country's history. The minnows of Northern Ireland beat the might of England in Windsor Park last night with a scoreline of 1-0. Goal was in the 74th minute by David Healy (a man who deserves a sainthood) and the team played like one many positions higher in the world rankings. England on the other hand played like a Sunday League side.

When are the FA ever going to do the sensible thing and sack the Swede?

Everyone over here is in a good mood today and a few have sore throats from screaming. What a geat day this is!

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

World Cup Qualifiers last night Buggeh. Northern Ireland ranked 116 in the world compared to England ranked 7th. The next FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking will be published on 17 August 2005.

To beat a country 109 places above you is quite an achievement. Needless to say a number of English guys here are being ribbed today (my other half included!)

yes it was a good day all round for British football c@z, finally its not all about England but some of us other minnows done rather well too :D

Personally feel that Scotland may have got their new manager a wee bit too late for this world cup campaign but any victory is a victory worth shouting about as they are few and far between

Taking nothing away from N Ireland is was a good victory. I was gutted
last night. The only postive I took was from the 2 Birmingham players
representing NI. D Johnson...Class. M taylor...steady. Just hope
the result is much needed kick up for backside, but I sure I said this
3 games ago.

Sven, if you read this...SOD OFF :D

Just wanted to say that it's not just because he's a Swede that England lost... the manager - regardless of nationality - can't do very much if the 11 stars on the field ain't up to playing. Bear in mind tho that I don't rush to the defence of Svennis - his results lately both on and off field haven't been complimentary to say the least...

Tis cool, on another sports note 11th was the first day of regular season American football. Our local team, the Buffalo Bills had the Houston Texans for lunch with a win of 22-7. It's good to see that we have a good start to a hopefully winning season.
